About John Boucher
John Boucher is the Sole Representative and Key Individual of John Boucher Brokers CC. Born in George and raised in Kimberley, he attended Kimberley Boys Junior School and matriculated from Kimberley Technical High School in 1982 with exemption.
He began his career in the former Department of Posts and Telecommunications within the Data Section, qualifying as a Technician in 1985 and earning an Electronics and Telecommunications Technician Diploma. He progressed to become one of the youngest Senior Technicians in the Department, gaining valuable experience in transmission construction, including the Postmasburg Carriers, Optic Fibre, and Microwave divisions.
John later transitioned into financial services, joining SANLAM as an IT Consultant before entering the life assurance industry in 1990. He became a Financial Adviser, working primarily in the Senior and Professional Market. In April 1994, he established John Boucher Brokers CC, where he focused on serving engineering firms, heavy earth-moving contractors, and investment cast founders in the Postmasburg area.
In addition to his insurance and financial services background, John owned a computer and signwriting business, through which he developed extensive expertise in IT support, PC maintenance, network design, and implementation. He successfully integrated these capabilities into his service offering for engineering clients, delivering practical value beyond traditional brokerage support. He is also highly experienced in modern technologies, including laser cutters, 3D FDM printers, DesignSpark Engineering, and prototype development and implementation.
John is also a skilled photographer with a strong interest in fauna and flora, aviation, and cycling photography. He holds a Private Pilot’s Licence and has participated in aviation events and committee roles, further strengthening his practical understanding of the aviation environment.
His technical background, aviation experience, and insurance expertise enable him to provide clients with a specialised, informed, and hands-on service. As a sole-principal brokerage, John personally manages every aspect of the business, ensuring direct communication, accountability, and a service approach built on trust, loyalty, and confidentiality.

From the world of Cessnas and Bonanzas to microlights, light sport aircraft, and gyrocopters, that passion grew into a deep appreciation for adventure, precision, freedom, and hands-on flying. Over the years, John has also received several accolades and special recognition within the recreational aviation industry.
